Housing project
In January 2025, we began building the first transitional housing facility dedicated to women leaving the sex industry and their children. This project includes:
Construction of 18 apartments adapted to residents’ needs
- 14 3 ½ apartments
- 4 4 ½ apartments
Shared spaces that contribute to well-being and rebuilding
- Rooftop garden designed for gardening, socializing, and skill development activities.
- Community room available for organizing workshops, discussion groups, and group events.
- Small relaxation lounge allowing residents to benefit from a calm and soothing space.
Accessibility and security
- Elevator installed to ensure all floors are accessible, in particular to those with mobility issues.
- Secure layout with infrastructure adapted to the needs of residents in transition.
Personalized support in the re-empowerment process
- Office spaces for support workers to ensure residents have access to on-site support services.
- Access to specialized services to assist residents in their social and professional reintegration.
This approach aims to provide a stable and caring living environment that encourages the autonomy and rebuilding efforts of the women who stay there.
This project is made possible thanks to financing granted under the Programme d’Habitation Abordable du Québec (PHAQ) and the Rapid Housing Initiative III of the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC). This financial support has made the construction of safe, accessible housing for women leaving prostitution possible.
